Efficient and minimal usage of a small 510 square feet space (47 square meters) rewards users with the ability to spend nights suspended over the beach.
The relatively familiar technology employed in the proposal provides the option to isolate oneself temporarily from the hyper-connected culture, a space for meditation on our impact on -and re-connection to the larger spheres: The biosphere and the ethnospehre.
The overall strategy speaks to the possibility of future living units to be added. The main column shaft is furred out to carry HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
The living unit's space is minimal, however maximized by the detachable pod, by split air conditioning units and may contain portable hygiene units as needed.
The pod detaches after the resident retracts the flat tv set into the bed-cabinet and glass doors are closed (one seals the fixed unit, the other seals the pod).
